Sajay Rai CPA, CISSP, CISM - President & CEO

Sajay Rai has more than 30 years of experience in information technology, specializing in information security, privacy, cyber security, business continuity, disaster recovery, IT audit and information risk.  Mr. Rai is the Founder and CEO of Securely Yours LLC and Securely Managed

Securely Yours LLC is focused on delivering cost effective innovative solutions through delivery channels like Software-as-a-Service, Managed Services and traditional IT consulting.  

Securely Managed LLC is focused on providing cyber security monitoring services, vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, and Monitoring-as-a-Service to our clients.   

Prior to starting Securely Yours LLC, Mr. Rai was a Partner with Ernst & Young LLP for 10 years and was responsible for the information advisory practice in the Detroit Metro area.  He also served as the national leader of EY’s Information Security and Business Continuity practices.  He served as a member of his firm’s Partners Advisory Council.

Mr. Rai also worked with IBM for 13 years, most recently serving as an executive of the national Business Continuity and Contingency consulting practice.  He was instrumental in starting the company’s Information Security consulting practice and managing its information technology consulting practice in Latin America. 

Mr. Rai is an adjunct professor for Oakland University (Auburn Hills, MI), Walsh College (Troy, MI) and Lawrence Technological University or LTU (Southfield, MI).  He regularly teaches classes on cyber security, information security, network security and cyber risks.

Mr. Rai has co-authored several books including Security and Auditing of Smart Devices, Defending the Digital Frontier – A Security Agenda, and Institute of Internal Auditors’ publications of “Sawyer’s Internal Audit Handbook 6th Edition”.  Mr. Rai has led the development of several Global Technology Audit Guide (GTAG) guides for IIA. 
Mr. Rai serves on the board of ISACA Detroit Chapter, IIA’s Detroit Chapter, Society of Information Management (SIM) Detroit Chapter and as a member of Walsh College’s Accounting Advisory and Technology Committees.  Mr. Rai is a regular speaker at industry conferences on information security, business continuity, disaster recovery, technology strategy and is frequently quoted in magazines and newspapers. 

He holds a Master’s degree in Information Management from Washington University of St. Louis, and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Fontbonne University of St. Louis.    

Philip Chukwuma CISSP – Chief Technology Officer

The project team also comprises of our Chief Technology Officer, Philip Chukwuma.  He has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, information security, privacy and business continuity.  His expertise is in the area vulnerability and risk management, security engineering, mobile security, Identity and Access Management, network architecture, disaster recovery planning, and security architecture. 

Prior to joining Securely Yours, Mr. Chukwuma was with Ernst & Young LLP as a Manager in the Risk Advisory practice.  He worked on several engagements in the area of IT Security, Identity and Access Management, ERP Integrity, SAP Security, Segregation of Duties (SOD), and Infrastructure Management (Problem, Incident, Change, Event Management, Active Directory, UNIX, etc.). 

During his career, Mr. Chukwuma has led several engagements as an Architect where he has invented ideas to streamline the implementation of security solutions.  He has designed several solutions in the areas of databases, routers and switches, virtualized environment and IAM. 

Philip received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, and his M.B.A. from the same University.   Philip is a CISSP.

Richard Cozart - Chief Mobility Officer

Richard Cozart is the Chief Architect with Securely Yours LLC. He specializes in developing and evaluating secure solutions for mobile and web technologies. He also developed multiple mobile applications for the android and Apple’s IOS Platform.

Prior to joining Securely Yours, Richard was a software engineer for Accenture and co-founder of the web solutions firm, A-Z computers. Richard received a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, with a major in computer information systems.

Richard has unique skills that he has developed applications for various platforms including the mobile devices.  He has hands-on experience in security features of Android and iOS.  He also has extensive experience in various web-based platforms such as SharePoint, Joomla, and Wordpress.  Richard’s experience includes full knowledge in all aspects of database programming, database technologies, .NET, PHP, ASP, SQL, XML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, XML and HTML. He also has experience in Graphic and Flash Design with a strong background developing high quality web sites

Michael Staley - Director - Security Operations Center

Michael is the SOC Director with Securely Managed.   Michael has been with Securely Managed since 2018 and started as a SOC Analyst.  Michael has a strong operations and cybersecurity background.  He manages all aspects of Securely Managed’s MSSP SOC Operations, including the personnel, technical and client communication.  His technical abilities include the reviewing of AlienVault alarms, triaging the events/alarms, writing AlienVault rules and customizing reports for the clients.

Michael has tremendous and proven ability to collaborate with executives to identify areas of improvement for cyber monitoring.  He can also work at a technical level with the clients and implement incident response solutions.  With his experience with next generation software like Power BI, he can customize reports for our clients. 

Michael graduated from Oakland University with his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and a minor in Information Security Management. He has also completed an 8-week Cybersecurity Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied and worked with instructors and practitioners from US-Cert in their lab at the internationally renowned Software Engineering Institute.

Carrie Schrader, CIA, CISA, CFE, CGEIT, CRISC

Carrie brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across Internal Audit, Internal Controls, Third Party Risk Management, Fraud Investigations, and Cybersecurity. She is recognized for her consultative, solution-driven approach, helping organizations streamline processes, strengthen governance, and enhance business intelligence. Her industry expertise spans financial services, automotive and manufacturing, healthcare, energy, and government sectors.

A proven executive leader, Carrie excels at developing and guiding high performing remote teams through a strong focus on learning, development, and operational excellence.

Carrie currently serves as President of the Detroit Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and is a Past President of ISACA. She is also an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She holds multiple globally recognized certifications, including Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT, and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control.

Smruti Shah, CPA, CIA CISA – Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance

With nearly three decades of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, governance, risk management, and compliance, Smruti Shah is a recognized leader in building enterprise security and compliance programs for government organizations. Throughout a distinguished career with the State of Michigan, Smruti has led strategic initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity, improve governance, and protect critical information assets while ensuring compliance with complex state and federal regulatory requirements.

As Director of the Michigan Cyber Security, Risk Compliance & Delivery Division within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), Smruti oversaw statewide cybersecurity risk management, governance, compliance, and policy development across 23 executive agencies. Under Smruti's leadership, Michigan achieved full agency participation in its Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) program, Michigan Security Accreditation Process (Authority to Operate) through the design and implementation of an integrated risk management framework that aligns cybersecurity risks with business objectives. This work has enhanced the state's ability to demonstrate compliance while improving operational efficiency and risk visibility.

Prior to joining DTMB, Smruti served as the Director of the Office of Privacy and Security and Information Security and Privacy Officer for the Michigan Department of Treasury, where responsibility included establishing department-wide information protection programs, leading strategic security initiatives, overseeing regulatory compliance, and managing security governance. Earlier roles included State Administrative Manager, Information Security Specialist, Staff Auditor, and Compliance and Financial Auditor, providing a unique blend of expertise spanning cybersecurity, information assurance, financial auditing, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Smruti possesses extensive experience with leading security and governance frameworks, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, ISO standards, CIS Controls, IRS Publication 1075, HIPAA, FERPA, CJIS, PCI DSS, Acceptable Risk Controls for ACA, Medicaid, and Provider Entities (ARC-AMPE) and HITRUST. As both a strategic leader and hands-on practitioner, Smruti is widely respected for developing innovative governance and compliance solutions that balance business objectives with effective risk management.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Smruti earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. These credentials reflect a career built on strong financial, audit, governance, and information security principles.

Beyond professional responsibilities, Smruti is committed to advancing the cybersecurity and governance profession through active leadership and service. Smruti serves on the CISO Executive Network Detroit Chapter, the Cloud Security Alliance Detroit Chapter Board and is a member of ISACA's Detroit Chapter. Previous leadership roles include serving on the boards of the Lansing Chapters of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), as well as serving as Chair and Treasurer of Bhartiya Temple of Lansing.
